Heralded Writer And Gaming Phenom David Sklansky Has Recently Claimed That He Devised The Casino Game Carribbean Poker.
Celebrated writer and betting genius David Sklansky has recently claimed that he invented the casino game Caribbean Stud Poker.
Caribbean Stud Online is a game who’s roots are mostly unfamiliar. Through the years, there have been many unique stories of how the game came into being.
Some reports claim it was first played on Caribbean cruise liners while others state the game was first played in Caribbean hotels. But, now it seems as if the game has less tropical origins.
According to Skansky he first concocted the game in 1982. When he first invented it he named it casino poker as a result of the combining of 5 card stud poker and casino gaming styles.
However, his version of the game had a few small differences with the current version of the game. In the modern game, the croupier reveals just one card and there are progressive jackpots. However, in his version of the game, 2 cards are shown and there is no progressive jackpot game.
Sklansky tested the game at a Vegas casino where a gambler called James Suttle asked him to explain the particulars of the game. Suttle was friends with a well known casino magnate named Danny Jones who was also involved in the creation of casino games. After learning the particulars of the game, Suttle showed it to Jones who began to market the game on cruise ships and in hotels in the Caribbean.
The game had a small amount of success but the addition of a new feature would soon see it explode in popularity. This novel feature came about as a result of a computer analyst named Michael Titus. While speaking to Jones about the game, Titus proposed the addition of a progressive jackpot
feature. After nailing down the details, the modern game of Caribbean Stud Poker was born and was an immediate hit because of the new progressive feature.
